KENOISE- EKZ – Management of Acoustic and Environmental Contamination

KEACOUSTICS PROVIDED A SOLUTION OF CALCULATIONS OF ACOUSTIC INDEXES AND THE INTEGRATION AND CONNECTIVITY OF IOT SENSORS

Keacoustics carried out the integration and connectivity between the EKZ-Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich Smart Cities platform and the Kenoise display, based on FIWARE as well as various noise and air quality sensors. The Smart Cities platform provides multiple IoT sensors from leading environmental control instrumentation companies, including two noise sensors and one environmental quality station.

Kenoise transformed the raw data provided by the noise sensors into useful information for the end user: average values Leq, values according to European Directive 2002/49/EC, Ld Le and Ln, and percentile values L%. Standardization guarantees a correct comparison between data from noise sensors of different brands and technologies.

To complete the environmental control, Keacoustics integrated an air quality control station into the Smart Cities platform using Unectic IoT devices to provide a gateway from MODBUS to HTTP/JSON through LTE communications.

Thanks to EKZ’s commitment, a standardization of calculations was achieved. EKZ customers have the KENOISE-EKZ vertical, which provides acoustic and air quality information and updates in a single display, ready to be connected to future sensors and technologies.
